History of  Memorial:

This memorial is dedicated to those who served and died in the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War. It was unveiled on June 3, 1920. In 1945, on the return of the forces from Overseas, a banquet and presentation were held in their honor at the Township Hall, Aberfoyle. On June 3, 1949, a memorial service was held at the memorial in the Township grounds, Aberfoyle, for those who served and died in the Second World War and their names were inscribed on the memorial.
